Do I have to register ahead?
Yes. We require 24 hours of advanced notice that you will be painting or crafting with us. In order to register, click on CLASSES.
I have never painted before. How does this work?
We will guide you step by step to create your masterpiece. If you can draw a circle, square or oval, you can paint on canvas!
How do I know what classes are available?
Simply click on CLASSES. There you will find the dates of paintings and crafts scheduled.
What if I want to do another painting instead of the scheduled painting?
We love rebels! If you would like to do your own thing, we welcome creativity! We just won’t be able to give you as much guidance.
What if I don’t have a PayPal account?
You do not need a PayPal account to register. When you are directed to PayPal, you may pay without having a PayPal account.
There are a bunch of us. Can you give us special pricing for our event?
Absolutely! Give us a call at 660.372.5000 for special pricing for your group.
What if I register, and cannot attend the class?
We gladly allow you to use your credit for an upcoming class (no expiration), but we cannot issue refunds.
Do you have drinks or snacks available?
We offer soft drinks, coffee and water, and we do have beer and wine on hand for adults. Visit our snack shack while you are here! We have candy, chips, popcorn and other snack items.
How long will the class last?
This time frame can change depending on the class selected, but the average class time is two hours.
Can you create a special painting or craft just for our group?
Absolutely! Call or email us with your ideas, and we will put something together just for you.
Can we paint/craft for our event, like a birthday party, bridal shower, ect?
Of course! To paint during your event, there will be a minimum charge of $175 that will allow up to 10 people to paint. Anyone after 10 will be $17.50 per person. Half of the payment is due to upon booking a private event. Please contact us for craft prices during your event.
Can I rent the space at A Stroke of Magic for my event?
Yes! Our facility is available for your event. Rates are $25/hour with a two hour minimum. Your group does not need to paint. You can just use our beautiful space! You will need to pay a deposit of $50 to reserve the space and that will be applied towards your first hour. The remaining balance will be due the day of your event.
What activities do you offer for team building?
We offer corporate team building. Bring your team in for an outing and to build rapport. We have several options, all unique and fun.
Pass the painting. The group paints the same painting, but everyone passes their painting to the right every 20 minutes. Let the competition and fun begin!
Group mural. Each person paints a unique design, but all paintings must connect in some way when the class is finished.
Cut it up. This is great fun for birthday events also! You provide a photo or picture. Each person paints a section of the "cut-up" photo to create the finished design. This option creates a great wall hanging when complete and is perfect for your baby shower or other event.
Never painted before? Never wanted to paint before? Think of us as the organizers of fun! We provide the canvas, paint, apron and music. This allows you to shake off the stress of your day and focus on relaxing. When the class is over, you get to take home your own unique creation.
Come with a group or come alone to experience the joy of painting in a relaxed atmosphere. Selected paintings will be created at each class, and we will walk you through step by step. Offering classes to adults, teens and children in both group settings and private events, there’s something for everyone looking to foster their inner Picasso. We strive to instill creativity and teach basic art skills in multiple media platforms to all artists and guests that come to A Stroke of Magic seeking a fun, relaxing and well-rounded artistic experience.
We were founded in 2014 by Paula Heath, and have been located in Moberly ever since. As of Septemeber 1, 2020, Paula has passed on the ownership to Amanda Devenport and Summer Branstetter. Don't you worry, though! Paula is still our painting instructor! Summer has been part of the studio for the last three years by renting the back rooms as her photography studio. Amanda came into the mix by being the owner of Mimi's Creations and added crafting classes and retail space.
